Changes in Schengen Visa Application Process
BIOMETRIC MANDATORY FROM 2ND NOVEMBER FOR ALL SCHENGEN VISAS.
As part of the worldwide introduction of the Visa Information System (VIS) , the Schengen States will launch the VIS in India on 2nd November 2015.
With effect from 2nd November 2015, Indian citizens requesting a short term Schengen visa will have to appear in person at the respective VFS visa application center in order to provide bio-metric data (fingerprints and photographs). For subsequent applications within next 5 years the bio-metric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VIS.
